For decades, pet owners have relied on the simple myth that multiplying a dog's age by seven gives you their human age. However, modern veterinary science has proven that this is highly inaccurate. Different breeds, sizes, and weights mature at vastly different rates.

Our mission is to provide dog owners, veterinarians, and animal enthusiasts with a simple, free, and highly accurate tool to understand a dog's true biological age. By knowing your dog's exact life stage in human terms, you can make better, more informed decisions about their diet, exercise routines, and preventative veterinary care.

The Science Behind the Calculator

This project was created to bridge the gap between complex veterinary data and everyday pet parenting. Our calculator is built upon established American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) size-adjusted guidelines, as well as recent epigenetic research.

We factor in your dog's specific breed size—from Toy to Giant—to provide a precise calculation. We also take into account the rapid maturation period during a puppy's first two years of life, which the old "multiply by seven" rule completely ignores.
